SAVE THE DATE: 12 - 14 May 2018 Agro, Food & Technology Trade and Matchmaking mission to EGYPT (Directly after mission to Israel)

With the challenge to feed 40 million people more by 2040, Egypt has several plans to develop its aqua-, horti- and agriculture sectors involving also water and energy issues. Join us to learn about the related business and cooperation opportunities!


In the near future, Egypte is confronted with massive population growth. Its government has approved plans to involve experts and expert companies in the search for solutions for this challenge.

The program aims to provide detailed insights in the state plans for the development of 100.000 feddan greenhouses and 1,5 million feddan land in 10 locations and the wish for the development of sustainable farming methods as well as water & heat stress solutions. Focus of the mission are these Land and Horticulture Development Plans in Egypt and the introduction to the projects, related organisations and companies in growth sectors. In addition, company visits and several networking events will be organised.

Companies and institutes active in R&D, (food) production, post-harvest handling and storage, logistics, added value creation and optimization, service supply, food security and production in the sectors agriculture, horticulture, dairy, fish cultivation and related water and energy (management) subsectors.

11 May  Flight to Cairo from Netherlands (or Tel Aviv, directly after the mission to Israel)

12 May  Welcome briefing Site visits

13 May  High level seminar ‘Feeding Tomorrow’s Egypt’  at ECES: Egypt Center for Economic Studies    

14 May  Matchmaking Event & personalized site visits, Egyptian Dutch Business Club

14/15 May  Night flight back to Amsterdam

 

Delegation leaders

The delegation is lead by Mr. Ate Oostra, former DG of  the Dutch Ministry of Agriculture, former Ambassador to China and Chairman of Platform Metropolitan Food Security. Business Leader is Mr. Jan Hak, chairman of NAFTC-Africa and NAFTC Middle East.

On your request we will provide you with business meetings during your visit. Meetings will be scheduled based on mutual interest.

 

Cost

Participation in this trade mission costs 

 

€ 950,- per company (max. 2 participants per bedrijf). With more than 2 participants, the additional costs will be € 475,- per extra participant.  

 

The mentioned fee excludes costs for travel and hotel. Of course we will be happy to advise you and in case of multiple requests for assistance we try to negotiate a group travel package.
