On October 4th, Lesotho celebrated its 50 year Independence Day with a reception at Kasteel De Wittenburg, organised by NAFTC Africa / SANEC.
Around 80 guests from the Dutch business community attended to congratulate the Kingdom of Lesotho on this special day.
Welcome remarks are to be given by Mr. Jan Hak (President NAFTC Africa) and Mr. Frans Engering (President SANEC) followed by the keynote speech by H.E. Mrs. Mpeo Mahase-Moiloa – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the BENELUX Countries and Permanent Representative to the E.U.
During the festive event, the Government of the Kingdom of Lesotho signed an MOU with SANEC and NAFTC Africa to set up a Netherlands-Lesotho, Agricultural, Food & Technology Platform in Lesotho which will function as gateway to Lesotho and the region. In addition, it had pleased the King to bestow upon Jan Hak the title 'Son of the Chief' which took place with a traditional ceremony.
The festive reception will be followed by a private dinner hosted by Mr. Hak.
